About The Large Double Orchid
Our stunning Large Double Orchid features multiple orchid stems and the option to include fragrant, decorative eucalyptus (important note: eucalyptus is not pet-friendly) or fern foliage . This thoughtful gift is available in a variety of bloom colors, from white, purple, burnt orange, gold, and sky blue.
NOTE: Like other orchid planters, these planters are designed without drainage holes. This is intentional for decor purposes, and with proper watering practices, this is totally fine. We recommend watering with just ¼ cup of water per week—ideally using three ice cubes, which melt slowly like natural rainfall, preventing excess water from pooling at the bottom. If you'd rather top water, you can easily lift the moss and the orchids to pour out excess after watering.

Watering Requirements
Water every 1-2 weeks, allowing potting medium to dry out between waterings. If kept in decorative, cache planter, pour out excess water after watering. Expect to water more often in brighter light and less often in lower light.

How much light does a Phalaenopsis Orchid need?
These orchids thrive in bright, indirect light; a north or east-facing windowsill is perfect or a diffused west-facing windows. Orchids also thrive under grow lights!
How do you water a Phalaenopsis Orchid?
Water your orchid about once a week when the orchid bark mix feels and looks dry. For a more precise check, peek at the roots through its translucent pot: when they turn a silvery-gray color, the plant is ready for a drink, but if they are white to a vibrant green, your orchid is still perfectly hydrated.
Why is my orchid not blooming?
If your orchid recently finished a cycle, it typically needs 4-6 months to rest and gear up energy for its next show. If it hasn't bloomed in over a year, try moving it to a spot with brighter light or placing it in a room that drops 10–15 degrees at night for a few weeks, which mimics the changing seasons and usually triggers a fresh flower spike.
What is the best potting mix for orchids?
Orchids are epiphytes, meaning they need chunky orchid bark or sphagnum moss rather than traditional potting mix to allow their roots to breathe.
How long do orchid blooms last?
A healthy Phalaenopsis Orchid can hold its flowers for two to four months! Sometimes, a healthy spike will naturally sprout a new branch of blooms on the same stalk to extend the cycle, or you can help stimulate a second flush by pruning the spike just above a node while it's still healthy.
