Clean The Green

Part 3 of 5

Clean The Green

  • One tablespoon of vinegar/lemon juice to every 2 cups of water to clean leaves.
  • Plants that are dense, have smaller leaves or even larger plants that aren’t able to be cleaned individually can be placed in a sink or tub and hosed down to get rid of dust/debris. Best to coordinate this at the time the plant is ready for water so a plant doesn’t get overwatered from water spilling into the planter.
  • Leaf shiners aren’t ideal for plants because they are often oily and can clog the pores on plants that allow for gaseous exchange with the air. Best to stick to simple home remedies instead of investing into leaf shiners. Neem oil has and can be used as an alternative!
  • Lastly, it can also be best to clean the areas arounds plants and their planters to prevent any dust and insect strongholds.
