The Calathea 'Burle Marx' is a vibrant houseplant known for its lush, intricately patterned leaves featuring striking dark green and silver stripes. It raises and lowers these leaves from day to night, a phenomenon called nyctinasty and the source behind its nickname prayer plant. This pet-friendly, tropical plant thrives in low to medium light and prefers a humid environment.

- Thrives in medium to bright indirect light. Not suited for direct sun, but can tolerate lower light conditions.
- Water every 1-2 weeks, allowing soil to dry out halfway between waterings. Expect to water more often in brighter light conditions. This plant can benefit from extra humidity. Calatheas can be sensitive to hard tap water. Try using filtered water or leaving water out overnight before using.
- This is a pet friendly plant.
- Calatheas exhibit a phenomenon known as nyctinasty. They move their leaves from day to night as a part of their circadian rhythm.
