Overview

  • Lava rocks - Helps to pool away any excess moisture from the succulent roots to prevent the roots from sitting in water.
  • Loosening roots - Some succulents may have a root plug (mesh material) wrapped around the plants roots. These are used in greenhouse at the time the plants are propagated to help facilitate root development. These can be easily peeled off the root systems prior to planting.

  • Can stage the succulents altogether prior to planting to get an idea how they will look in the terrarium before you start. Mix different heights & textures.
  • Using a paintbrush or old makeup brush can work to dust off any sand from your succulents leaves or from the sides of the container.
